Soon you will have wings
032
Thanking is the most beautiful flower that arises in one's soul. Slowly slowly, the bud is opening. It is becoming a flower. Soon you will have wings. Soon your whole life will become a fragrance. Soon, not only one flower, but millions will bloom in you. When one flower has bloomed, know well, the spring has come.
Who is this fool who is calling himself I?
031
There is no bigger mistake than the idea of "I." It is the biggest obstacle on the path to truth. Those who don't overcome this obstacle will never make any progress on the path of truth.
A sannyasin was passing through a village. A sannyasin friend of his was in the same village, so he thought he would visit him before moving on. Although it was nearly midnight, he went to meet him. Seeing a light shining, he knocked on the window. A voice came from inside, "Who is it?" Thinking that his voice would be enough to identify him, he simply replied, "It is I." But no answer came from inside. He knocked on the window many times, but there was no reply. He began to wonder if the house was empty. He said loudly, "Friend, why aren't you opening the door for me. Why don't you reply?" A voice was heard from inside: "Who is this fool who is calling himself I? Except for God, nobody has the right to say 'I.'"
Our "I" is the only lock on the door to truth. If you break that lock, suddenly you realize that the door was always open.
Turn each and every moment into bliss
030
The eternal is hidden in the moment, and the vastness of infinity is contained in the atom. He who ignores the atom, thinking it is just an atom, loses the infinite itself. It is only by digging in the lowest that you find the highest.
Each and every moment of life is significant. And no moment is less or more valuable than any other moment. To wait for a particular moment to find bliss is useless. Those who are aware turn each and every moment into bliss. And those who keep waiting for the right opportunity lose the very opportunity of life itself. The fulfillment of life is not attained all in one go, in a lump sum. It is to be found bit by bit, in each and every moment.
Once, after a master left his body, his disciples were asked, "What did your master value most?" They replied, "Anything that he was involved in, in any given moment."
The ocean is made up of many single drops. And life consists of many individual moments. He who becomes aware of the drop comes to know the whole ocean. And he who has experienced the moment has experienced the whole of life.
Stepping stones
029
Truth is one, but the doors to find it can be many. And if you become attached to the door itself, you will stop at the door. Then the door of truth will never open for you.
Truth is everywhere. Everything that is, is truth. It has infinite forms. It is just like beauty. Beauty manifests itself in many forms, but that does not mean that beauty itself is many different things. What glows in the stars at night, and what gives off fragrance in the flowers, and what shows in the eyes as love - are they different from each another? The forms may be different, but the very same essence is present in them all. But he who gets stuck at the form never comes to know the soul. And he who stops at the beautiful is never able to experience beauty itself. Likewise, those who get stuck with words will remain without the truth.
Those who know this, transform obstacles on the path into stepping stones. For those who do not know this, even stepping stones will become obstacles.
Live both sides
028
Unfortunate are those who think themselves only physical. Far more fortunate are those who think themselves spiritual. But the ultimate joy, blessing and benediction belongs to the third category that knows we are both. Live both sides, the exterior and the interior, simultaneously, in deep harmony.
This is the great way
027
You are the way and you are the goal, and there is no distance between you and the goal. You are the seeker and you are the sought; there is no distance between the seeker and the sought. You are the worshipper and you are the worshipped. You are the disciple and you are the master. You are the means and you are the end: this is the great way.
Freedom is the highest value
026
You have to remember that freedom is the highest value and if love is not giving you freedom then it is not love. Freedom is a criterion: anything that gives you freedom is right, and anything that destroys your freedom is wrong.
If you can remember this small criterion, your life, slowly, will start settling on the right path about everything: your relationships, your meditations, your creativity, whatever you are.
You were born as a no-mind
025
You were born as a no-mind. Let this sink into your heart as deeply as possible because through that, a door opens. If you were born as a no-mind, then the mind is just a social product. It is nothing natural, it is cultivated. It has been put together on top of you. Deep down you are still free, you can get out of it.
One can never get out of nature, but one can get out of the artificial any moment one decides to.
The tendency of the mind is to choose the belief
024
If you have a belief and you come against an experience which the belief says is not possible, or, the experience is such that you have to drop the belief, what are you going to choose — the belief or the experience? The tendency of the mind is to choose the belief, to forget about the experience. That's how you have been missing many opportunities when God has knocked at your door.
Wisdom is never borrowed and that which is borrowed is never wisdom
023
The very word intuition has to be understood. You know the word tuition. Tuition comes from outside, somebody teaches you, the tutor. In-tuition means something that arises within your being; it is your potential, that's why it is called intuition. Wisdom is never borrowed, and that which is borrowed is never wisdom.
Unless you have your own wisdom, your own vision, your own clarity, your own eyes to see, you will not be able to understand the mystery of existence.
